Drumming Prizes (Instagram Post) (2).png

On behalf of the Tekurio Family, we would like to thank each of you for joining us at our 18th annual Hura Tahiti International Competition. The last we met, in-person was in June of 2019. We canceled our 2020 competition due to Covid and hosted our 1st virtual competition in 2021. It felt so good celebrating each other, listening to live drumming, and watching amazing performances. This competition brings together dancers of all ages, all levels and from all over the world. I could feel the excitement back stage and every dancer left their hearts on the stage.

Please know that your efforts, especially in my eyes, did not go unnoticed. Your dancers and drummers are a true reflection of the leadership they receive from each of you. Thank you traveling so far to be with us and for being patient as we adjusted our schedule. We hope you enjoyed yourself and traveled home knowing you each did such a great job representing your hometown and honoring the Tahitian culture.
